Day One Snapshots from the NXL Mid Atlantic Major

ac: Diesel versatility is shining

One of the major factors behind Diesel's performance over the last two seasons has been tied to the team fielding a consistent roster event to event. At the Mid Atlantic Major, Diesel is all hands on deck and the improvement in the team's communication and synergy is evident. They are versatile across the roster with a team full of multi-dimensional players. Coach Pauley has the team playing a hard-to-scout style of paintball and is utilizing all levels of the field. Could this be Diesel’s event to make a deep run?

X-Factor off to a slow start

After starting the weekend off short handed with the absence of both Colt Roberts, Jesse Stephens, and Head Coach Ryan Brand, X-Factor is off to a slow start. The weather makes the reduced roster an even bigger factor with incredible heat and humidity throughout the day. Raney Stanczak looked good throughout the day but they dropped games to Uprising and Damage to finish day one at 0-2. They will need to win both games tomorrow to have a shot at Sunday.

Thunder showing some life

There is something about the Mid Atlantic Major event and Seattle Thunder. Once again, they have come into Philly with an effective game-plan and a big win over Edmonton Impact and a nail biter one point loss to Aftermath. This is a team that may find their way into Sunday with very winnable games on day two against NYX and the Hurricanes. Their zone control has been huge so far and the patience they are showing behind the veteran wisdom of Corey Field is paying off thus far.

Uprising goes 2-0

Seattle Uprising had a great opening day to the weekend after posting a 2-0 record on day one of the event. After a 5-2 win versus Xfactor, they won with authority over the new Latin Saints 7-1. They are playing a controlled but aggressive style, and consistent eliminations off the break have given them room to operate so far.

Dynasty perfect through day one

Dynasty is back to business as usual after missing Sunday the last event. After a decisive 6-1 win over LA Infamous, Dynasty pulled out a tightly contested win against the Ironmen. The depth on this roster is truly impressive, with contributions coming from 10 different players on the first day of the event.
